Waterkeepers Iraq Organization takes pride in its recent cleaning activities conducted in Hazarmird and Dukan Lake. With the support of Shelan Zuhdi, we successfully collected 250 kilograms of garbage and waste left behind by tourists and fishermen. These efforts are part of our commitment to restoring and preserving the natural beauty of Kurdistan. By coming together as a community, we can make a meaningful impact in creating a cleaner and healthier environment for wildlife, people, and future generations.

Waterkeepers Iraq Organization is proud to have conducted two impactful cleaning activities in Hazarmird and Dukan Lake on May 26th and June 2nd, respectively. These efforts were aimed at addressing the pollution caused by garbage and waste left behind by tourists and fishermen. Together, we collected an impressive 250 kilograms of waste, making a tangible difference in these pristine natural areas.

These successful activities were made possible through the support of Shelan Zuhdi, who recognizes the significance of the Clean-Up Campaign Partnership with Waterkeepers, Iraq/Kurdistan. Shelan Zuhdi expressed the importance of restoring heavily polluted regions within the local community, emphasizing the historical and environmental value of locations like Hazarmerd and Lake Dukan. These areas provide vital resources that sustain our lives, and it is our duty to come together and contribute towards their restoration.

By actively participating in these volunteer-led restoration efforts, we demonstrate our commitment to protecting wildlife, preserving the environment, and ensuring the well-being of people. We believe that when we take care of nature, nature takes care of us in return.
Waterkeepers Iraq Organization is dedicated to making a positive impact in Kurdistan by restoring and safeguarding its natural treasures. Through initiatives like the Clean-Up Campaign, we strive to create awareness, inspire action, and foster a sense of responsibility towards our environment. Together, we can build a cleaner, healthier future for all.
