Empowering Kurdistan for Waterway Conservation and Environmental Advocacy!

We're thrilled to introduce the "Empowering Kurdistan Communities for Waterway Conservation and Environmental Advocacy" project, a crucial initiative to safeguard our precious water resources. This project focuses on engaging local communities in environmental stewardship, particularly around critical waterways, rivers, and dams across the region.
Our key objectives include organizing community-led clean-ups, providing specialized training for volunteers and environmental activists, and raising public awareness through creative methods such as environmental art and sports events. By empowering local stakeholders, we aim to drive sustainable ecological practices and influence policies that protect Kurdistan’s natural resources.
The project is funded by Sida (The Swedish International Development Cooperation Agency) in partnership with NPA (Norwegian People's Aid), with Waterkeepers Iraq (WKI) as the cooperating partner. Together, they are committed to enhancing environmental governance and conservation in the Kurdistan region.
