Green Music & Arts Festival

The Green Music and Arts Festival has the objective of raising environmental awareness through an entertaining celebration of our environment.   The first festival took place on Earth Day Weekend (April 20th 2012), when Nature Iraq, the Waterkeeper project, and Development Now (a student group of the American University of Iraq-Sulaimani) hosted an arts and music festival in Azadi Park (an outdoor park in central Sulaimani). The Festival promotes conservation and environmental sustainability through drama, music, photography and the arts along with demonstration projects, information booths by local environmental groups, and posters and films on environmental information.

In 2014, planning is underway for the 3rd Annual Green Arts & Music Festival which will take place in Azadi Park in Sulaimani, Kurdistan, northern Iraq but has been rescheduled to take place in late summer/early fall.  Watch this page for new information ...
